Liz Jack

Liz has spent her professional career working alongside the tourism industry in economic and community development. Professionally trained, Liz spent many years working with the WA Tourism Commission, South West Development Commission and later South Regional TAFE in their tour guiding programme, before starting the first regional tourism consultancy in WA. 

The Centre of Sustainable Tourism was established in 1996 to support communities develop tourism strategies that supported the environmental, cultural and spiritual uniqueness of their locations; rather than focussing only on the economic gain that tourism can bring.In 1998, she was appointed the first project manager to the Tourism Optimization Management Model; a indicators project tracking the impact of tourism on the community, landscape and economy of Kangaroo Island, South Australia and continues to provide mentoring services to the tourism industry.
