Hope driving action
Award-winning choreographer and dance artist reaches for the stars in her most ambitious community arts project to date…
The Stars Descend
THE STARS DESCEND is a performance that unfolded over five locations along a 1000km corridor in South Western Australia. Each of the five chapters engaged with the extraordinary biodiversity of the Gondwana Link. At every interval, performances were created in response to specific outdoor sites. Five teams of local professional artists worked together with community, rehearsing towards performances that resounded in splendrous outdoor settings. Audiences absorbed breathtaking and immersive experiences of movement and sound.
DISTRIBUTED 15 is created by Annette Carmichael Projects in partnership with local communities and artists from regions across the Gondwana Link. There are five locations that each form a chapter of the story, THE STARS DESCEND. Each of the five chapters is nurtured by a Local Producer. Annette Carmichael Projects provided many opportunities for artists and community members to participate in THE STARS DESCEND.
